As a qualified practitioner, I am deeply dedicated and invested in my clients. I go above and beyond to bring about the positive changes a client wants and desires.
However, before training in, and experiencing, hypnotherapy myself, I didn’t really know how it worked or even what to expect from a session. With that in mind, I’ve written this section to answer many of the common questions asked about this type of treatment in an authentic way.

What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a natural state of relaxation that we go into daily. Perhaps you’ve found yourself:

All the above are natural forms of hypnosis.

How does hypnotherapy work?
Our mind is a powerful tool that has two categories- the conscious and the subconscious. Our conscious mind is very analytical and enables us to think and use logic. In comparison, our subconscious is the powerful part of the mind that controls the stories we tell ourselves daily- these stories impact our beliefs, emotions and actions/reactions. It’s this part of the mind that we work with during hypnotherapy to bring about positive changes.

What happens in a hypnotherapy session?
Initially, we have a free consultation to establish what area of your life you want the hypnotherapy session to focus on. This is a chance for you to ask any questions that you may have relating to the session and for me to get a better understanding of your situation too.
Once a session is ready to take place, I make sure that my client is sat comfortably and is warm enough. Using various methods-such as breathing, imagery and muscle relaxation techniques- I guide my clients into a deeply tranquil state where they are safe and always in complete control. By easily drifting into a deeply relaxed state, the subconscious becomes highly receptive and is open to new ideas- ideas which serve you and allow positive changes to occur.
Parts of the session may require you to answer questions and give feedback to me. Other parts simply require you to listen. As the session continues, I guide you to uncover the root cause(s) of your presenting issue. Together, we release any limiting beliefs and replace them with positive ones in the most supportive and empathetic manner.
By the end of the session, you will feel lighter and brighter, knowing that a powerful transformation has taken place. Post session, you will also be sent a bespoke audio-recording to listen to for 21 days- it’s crucial to do this, so that the positive changes continue to embed in your subconscious.
Many of my clients receive sessions online, via Zoom, which means that you can still receive this truly transformational therapy from the comfort of your own home.

How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?
Truthfully, that varies from client to client- some require one session, whereas others benefit from a few more. Equally it is dependent on the area of your life that you want the session to focus on. During the consultation, I will be able to give you an indication of how many sessions would be appropriate for you and your situation.

What can hypnotherapy be used for?
Hypnotherapy can used for a multitude of things to offer a better quality of life. Despite listing some of the issues I help with here on the website, this is not an exhaustive list. Phobias
Fears and Phobias can be devastating things that often hold us back from living life to the full. Using hypnotherapy, we’re able to uncover the cause of your phobia/fear and overcome it in the most empathetic way. Some of the clients I have helped came to me with fears/phobias of:

For that reason, I am very selective about who I offer weight management treatments to and only conduct sessions if I feel that it would be in the client’s best interest.

Fertility

Are you struggling to conceive? Do you long to have a child of your own? Have all other options been exhausted? If this is the case, hypnotherapy is here to help prepare your mind, and body, for the perfect pregnancy. Some of my previous clients struggled to carry their pregnancy to full term, however, after experiencing hypnotherapy, were able to have a happy, healthy family of their own.
I have also helped male clients who struggled with sexual performance. Using hypnotherapy, we were able to uncover the cause of the presenting problem and change the belief systems around this. After listening to their bespoke audio recording, each client was left feeling confident and in control of their own body.
Addictions
Many addictions start out as habits that are used to deal with stress or trauma. Over time, these unwanted habits soon progress to dependencies beyond our control. Addictions negatively impact not only our own lives, but the lives of those closest to us too. Using hypnotherapy, we can get to the root cause of the addiction and give you the tools to live a life on your terms- free from unwanted habits.
